Customer Rating: Summary: Great for browning Comment: I have had several microwaves over the years and this is by far the best.
It is an 'Inverter' microwave, this means that when using functions such as defrost rather than 'pulsing' on high power, it can actually operate at a lower power which most microwaves can't.
It is the first microwave I have used with a decent browning and crisping function. It comes with an excellent Panacrunch pan, which just looks like a round metal dish, but when you use it you can cook pizza, hash browns, quiche, pastys etc... and they always come out brown and crispy. Tonight I used it to cook Breaded Jalapino peppers, they normally take 15 mins in a conventional oven. They took just 4 mins and came out lovely and crispy!!
I would highly recommend this oven, it is by far the best microwave I have ever used. Customer Rating: Summary: All rounder packed with features Comment: I bought this microwave for the second time after my previous unit went kaput (reasons later). I've used it for more than 2 months previously so can share my thoughts on this model:
PROS:
* Good value for money for the bulk of features
* I found the knob controls intuitive compared to buttons on other microwaves
* The defrosting function works great e.g. beeps to ask you to turn over items for more even defrosting and to avoid cooking the item.
* Metal insides make it easy to clean and maintain
CONS:
* Don't quite understand why light and internal fans continue to be on, even after stop button is pressed. This does not bad, just distracting
* Doesn't survive a 4 ft drop! (which was what happened to the previous unit - that's why I am replacing this exact same model)
Overall, a solid family-sized combination microwave that fits in the middle bracket price range.
