Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Scooter with built-quality distributed by a responsible seller Comment: We purchased the Original Micro Scooter - Sprite, which arrived on 21st July 2008. Unfortunately, the scooter broke suddenly on 21st August 2008; i.e. it lasted for a month. The metal part of the folding deck (the part that joins the handle bar onto the base) broke first, then the folding deck broke into pieces. This happens to a friend of ours, who bought a more expensive version of Micro, which lasted for less than 3 weeks. Close inspection reveals that the folding deck is brittle.
We asked Micro for a replacement. Micro asked to see a photo of the bottom of the scooter. After seeing the photo, Micro told us that the scooter is out of guarantee, as it has been used roughly.
We bought Micro because we saw many Micro sponsored videos on the web showing stunts. These videos give its customers the wrong impression that Micro is a stong scooter, which it is not. The fact that Micro asked to see the bottom of the scooter indicates that they know the brittleness of the folding deck, and they know all along that many customers have used their products following the examples in their sponsored videos. Yet they have not warned their customers properly before their customers bought the scooter. This seems to be a case of irresponsible marketing.
We bought the scooter from SkateAsylum. They have kindly given us a replacement of the folding deck out of their own finance. We are pleased with this settlement. However, we feel that Micro should sort out their own problems. They should improve the quality of their scooters, and be more responsible for their promotional information.
