Customer Rating: Summary: Where is it???? Comment: We put this item on our wedding list and it was puchased by a wedding guest on 5th June - it is now 6 August and still no sight of the product!!! We were hoping to have this for the summer but I guess we won't be able to use it this year. I wouldn't want anyone else to have to wait 2 months for a product and so I can't recommend it - go to Homebase instead! Customer Rating: Summary: Great little Greenhouse Comment: I have 3 of these greenhouses and am overall very happy with them. The only thing you cannot do is forget to open the door by 12pm at the latest. Even in early April if it is a sunny day the temperature has reached over 50c and seedlings on the top shelf literally fry. I learnt my lesson the hard way!! On the reverse side of the heat issue, they retain their heat throughout the night very well and I've never seen the temp fall below 10c even when outside it is down to 3/4c. They tend to have some minor stability issues that are easily resolved. A good buy at the price. Customer Rating: Summary: Good Value Comment: I read the reviews left for this mini greenhouse and decided to take a chance. I am absolutely delighted with it and unlike the previous reviewers have had no trouble with the greenhouse being at all unsteady. I do agree with the last reviewer though who suggested a small opening at the top to save unzipping the whole cover. It was packaged well and was delivered before the estimated delivery date.
All in all this greenhouse is good value for money and I would recommend this greenhouse to anyone who wanted it for bringing seeds or plug plants on.
Customer Rating: Summary: Warm and dry. Comment: I have also reviewed the 3 tier version of this. I think this is a great little greenhouse alternative for those who haven't the space for a huge glass beasty.
Like the other reviewer, I've not had a problem with the plastic ripping or zips coming away.
When it is empty it blows over easily, but it does have ties on the back to attach it to a fence.
I've had a lot of success with mine and it keeps heat in very well. This is a very efficient greenhouse and is easily accessible to water the plants.
The plastic cover is well made and thick, it covers the frame completely and snugly. The plastic cover is easy to wash if it gets grubby by giving it a quick hose down.
I think this would benefit from a zippable air vent during the hot summer days so that you don't necessarily have to open the door to keep it from over heating.
The shelves are metal with a weatherproof coating, they are pretty solid and once in almost stop any frame wobble.
Customer Rating: Summary: wobbly but functional Comment: I bought the four-tier greenhouse as a way of propogating seeds, and to keep half-hardy plants from frost damage over the winter. It is very easy to construct, and does it's job, in keeping warmth and moisture in very well. The plastic cover fits right to the bottom of the frame, which means it is very snug for the plants in there. Ulike other reviewers of this type of greemhouse, I have not found a problem with the zips coming apart from the cover - perhaps the manufacturers have corrected this fault. The only problem is that the frame, constructed from metal tubing and plastic, is a bit wobbly, as the joints can't be tightened up in any way. I had three planter trays on each shelf, and the whole structure veered rather alarmingly to the left, so I had to attach it with string to the wall to prevent it falling over. I also put some plastic sheet on each shelf, because I found that when watering, the drips disturbed the soil in the seed trays below.
Still, what do you expect for £20? It more or less does its job, and my lettuces are now coming on well.
