Customer Rating: Summary: Good BUT Comment: I am a Dyson fan. I did try another brand and have quickly come back to Dyson. Having used both upright and cylinder before, the Animal Ball seemed to make the moving around of an upright easier.
I am sure, if you have an open plan layout, minimal furniture, or large rooms with space between sofa's etc, this would be ideal. Can't fault the cleaning performance. I have two dogs and a cat!
And here is the BUT.
I am now in a smaller home, normal 3 bedroom with average size rooms. I find it tedious to use as the head is so wide it doesn't go under dinning room chairs, gaps between the furniture are difficult. The stairs if you have a turn is not easy, as the hose isn't long enough which ever way you try.
And its heavy moving between rooms if you have steps is quite an exercise. So now I am generally using the arm with attachment to clean under furniture and in the narrower spaces between furniture. Yes I do move them but not every day. So the upright and ball system isn't for smaller spaces. I am going to look at the DC20 & DC22 even though its only 1 year on.
Customer Rating: Summary: Amazing...so far! Comment: The average life expectancy of a vacuum cleaner in my household is 8 -12 months and I include the older Dyson models in this. The reason? - I have 2 Afghan Hounds, an Irish Wolfhound, 1 Pomeranian and 8 longhaired white cats! Dyson should use my house as th ultimate test!
Well, I purchased this 3 months ago and I am so impressed. It leaves my carpets totally hair free - remember i have WHITE cats!! It copes with everything my animlas can throw at it. It is very easy to move around but the downside is that it is a heavy piece of kit to drag up and down stairs. Apart from that, I can recommend it. Not sure of life expectancy though. We'll see about that in other 6 months. Customer Rating: Summary: Brilliant my carpets look like new Comment: Bought this to replace an ageing DC01 thought that was pretty good compared to the vacuum cleaners I had before, easy to assemble and very easy to use, amazing the amount of dirt and dust it pulled out of the carpet pile considering the house was vacuumed thoroughly the evening before the DC15 arrived. Mini Turbine very good for the stairs and also getting in small places. YES it does what it says it picks up dog hairs!!! Previously even with the DC01 I had to wipe the carpet with a damp cloth to get them off, but this does the trick very well. Also smaller head at the front so gets under the coffee table and the edge of furniture. Before you start worrying can a man get so excited about a vacuum cleaner apart from James Dyson, unfortunately NO, I'm writing this review on my Husbands account only thing he will do with the vacuum is pay for it!! Now i have always had Dysons, various models over the years including the small hand held which i purchased last year and was and still am totally impressed with.
It got delivered the very next day after i ordered it, we unwrapped it and then there was a huge race as to who would use it first!
It twists it turns and it glides. The thin brush bar fits under my radiators whch now means i don't have to take the nozzle off and do it manually, my husband loves it so is now hoovers even when i don't mention it. My one year old wanted a look in, my three year old wanted to hoover and the cats were also intrigued.
The mini turbine head makes hoovering stairs easy rather than a sweaty effort. As for previous reviews about the hose not being long enough, did they leave the wand on? i'm assuming they didn't because even with my three big corner stairs and the following 10 stairs there is more than enough hose to reach with the wand!
The only downfall with it is the weight which takes a bit of getting used to as it's a heavy beast. But once your used to it it makes hoovering a pleasure and a doddle even with carrying it upstairs thanks to it's handle.
Makes me wonder what on earth Dyson can come up with next......!
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice and excellent Hoover from Dyson!!! Comment: I bought to replace old DC04 and I opened the box and look nice and then tried to hoover as it pick up my collie-cross hearing dog from the floor - it collected lots of fur coat from carpets, excellent hoover also easy to move any direction - it quite heavy but it make good clean out dirt, hair,etc.. also the bin seem quite easier than older old as you just press red button as it open bottom of the bin. I would recommend this hoover if you have dogs or cats to clean out hair from the carpets -- I bought this DC15 and DC20 Animal already that make me easier job - the DC20 make you easier job for cleaning anything include car seats,etc.. DC15 is good buy as well.
