Customer Rating: Summary: Karcher 6.85 Hose Reel Handle Weakness Comment: I brought the Karcher 8 months ago and I must say the cleaning power of the vario lance is superb and the detergent function is also an added bonus.
I use mine mainly for the patio 2 or 3 times a year and light use on the car, in my short time of ownership the foldaway hose reel handle snapped off when I was in the proces of reeling in the hose. The handle is in my opinon a poor design and bound to break sooner or later. Im hoping that Karcher can supply an uprated handle as there is simply no point in replacing like for like as it just isnt upto the job of turning the hose drum without breaking.
The supplied vario lance is great at cleaning moss etc from patios and after purchasing the Dirtblaster lance I found no difference in the overall cleaning power so save yourself the money and stick with the one supplied.
I have to aslo agree with some of the comments on how easy the unit will fall over if your not careful with it.

Well something that lasts would be nice...like others, I have found that the plastic parts become brittle and break
It started with the hose holder and issues with the lance, but the real downer is a plastic inlet pipe that split open during use. Its the part you attach the hose to and feeds into the pump that I have to say looks tough as nails encased in metal parts...not much good though if your water has escaped first!!
So a good product with limited service life at a relatively high price means I feel generous giving it 3 stars
*** Update ***
Following a chat with customer services, my machine was examined by their engineers and a faulty piston guide was found to be responsible for the split inlet pipe. A very reasonable sum was charged for the repair & postage and email contact with customer services throughout was excellent.
I am now comfortable about the 3 star rating, if it were cheaper it would be a 4 Customer Rating: Summary: dont buy it Comment: we are having honda car dealership in india in mumbai.we have purchased almost 5 high pressure washing m/c.from your esteemed dealer in mumbai.machines purchased just 2.5 years back.sorry to say that we have not used any of the m/c satisfactorily for a single day of purchse.
when ever we use to contact local dealer very rarely the technician has visited on the same day to resolve the problem.up to certain extend the dealer has offered warranty.
but letter on the failure days of m/c increased rather than working.this has affected on our customer satisfaction lot.
we called dealer to resolve the problem the dealer said your m/c choice was wrong.now i cant do any thing.
fortunately we happen to meet your service manager and zonal manager in mumbai. they assured us on proper repair or by back with proper required m/c.this has been continued for a month.
till date the m/c are unrepaired and nobody bothers about the service.
on the contrary when i happen to talk the seniopr of service manager he said dont talk to us talk to the dealer from whom you have purchased the machines.
DO YOU THINK SOME ONE SHOULD BY THIS MACHINE WITH SUCH A PATHETIC SERVICE. Customer Rating: Summary: faulty trigger Comment: After using the machine once only for washing patio and slab path. the plastic trigger unit cracked allowing the high pressure hose to pull out of gun drenching me and rendering the machine useless. I complained to Karcher they replied machine is out of warranty but you can purchase a new part for £47.48. They also said the trigger lance is a wear and tear part, but i reckon it should last longer than one year.If i have to buy a new part everytime i use it i may as well get a contractor to clean up for me reckon it might be cheaper. I do not think this machine is of durable quality. Dont expect any good will or compassion from this company Customer Rating: Summary: Faulty trigger gun Comment: I have had to purchase 3 replacement trigger guns for this product due to a design weakness. Despite very little usage, a split in the plastic (brittle and weak) keeps recurring where the hose connects to the trigger gun. Karcher don't seem interested. Why should they be - I'm paying them a small fortune for replacement trigger guns. I won't be buying anymore Karcher products - there are universal trigger guns out there that seem to be far more robust. The washer itself might be ok but these Karcher domestic washers are a poor buy if the trigger gun consistantly fails.
